What does SPD (Serial Presence Detect) mean?<\/p>\n

Serial Presence Detect (SPD) is a system interface that allows access to memory modules via PC. The BIOS reads the SPD data to get the necessary information and determines the way the system works. All memory modules manufactured in compliance with JEDEC standards have 128byte SPD data in an EEPROM chip on the module.<\/p>\n

The SPD chip is located on one of the corners of the memory module and can be easily seen with the naked eye. the date of manufacture, the manufacturer, the serial number, and similar information that the manufacturer would like to give to the module. If the SPD is not programmed correctly, the motherboard will try to adjust itself according to the wrong bus, which will cause problems for the system.
